Food and Wine in Emilia Romagna is a 7-day-tour   perfectly paced for you to Food and Wine Emilia Romagna 2016enjoy the many flavors this  region has to offer. This tour is scheduled to depart on Sunday and return on Saturday. Begin in Milan and proceed through Emilia-Romagna region to end in Milan.

The Emilia-Romagna region and PARMA “the capital of the Food Valley” are worldwide known for their largest number of certified traditional Italian products (made in Italy) as prosciutto, parmigiano, mortadella, salami, balsamic vinegar, wines, olive oils, tortellini, pasta alla bolognese and many more… The entire food and wine production is still valued by the institution with Food Museums: the Museum of Parmigiano-Reggiano, the Museum of Ham and Salami of Parma still Salami Museum, dedicated to the most famous of Italian salami.

We have planed this itinerary for customers who love Italian food and want to learn and experience this culture thought the region who made Italy most popular quality food.

During this tour you will learn and experience what make this food so special visiting the cheese and prosciutto factory, the acetaia cellar (balsamic vinegar) and take a cooking class. Also you will enjoy our professional local guide to discover the historical treasures of Parma, Bologna, Modena and many picturesque small villages.

Day 1– Welcome to Milan

Ben Arrivati a Milano!  Your driver will greet you at 09:30 am or 3:00 pm at the Milan Malpensa International Airport , or at 12:30 pm at the Milan Linate International Airport to escort you to your hotel in Milan. Upon arrival at your  hotel you should rest or, if you wish, you may begin exploring Milan on your own.  Our Tour Guide will meet you at 4:30 pm for a private tour of the city to see the Duomo (Italian cathedral church) that took six centuries to build. It is dedicated to St. Mary and is Milan’s Archbishop’s seat. During this visit, our Tour Guide will also take you to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, one of the world’s oldest shopping malls and is named after the Kingdom of Italy's first king, followed by a Welcome Dinner at local restaurant.

Hotel: Hotel dei Cavalieri, Mirage or similar (1 night)

Day 2– Parma, Prosciutto Factory

After breakfast today. you will be taken for a drive to Parma for a visit of  the “Prosciutto di Parma” Factory. Later, enjoy  a sightseeing tour with our Local Guide of Parma’s city center included in which is the Romanesque Cathedral, the Baptistery, where some may notice the difference between the Romanesque and Gothic styles of its architecture, and the amazing Baroque Farnese theatre or “Teatro Farnese”. Once we arrive at the next hotel, after check-in, enjoy tonight's dinner at an authentic restaurant.

Day 3-  Parmisan Cheese, Cooking Class, Lambrusco Winery

This morning we visit the Parmesan Cheese Factory, (Parmigiano-Reggiano) with a local cheese expert. In the afternoon, experience a 3/4 hour cooking class where you will learn how to make some of the most traditional parmesan dishes like Tortelli, Tagliatelle and much more by a true, professional Italian. Following this cooking class, enjoy a wine tasting with a local wine expert.  You can’t get more authentic than this! For dinner, you will enjoy the dish you so expertly prepared.

Day 4– San Marino, Brisighella, Forlimpopoli

We begin this morning by making our way to the small independent State of San Marino after breakfast to visit the city center and for you to enjoy your own time to shop or explore as you wish.  Later, we drive through to the small charming Medieval villages of Brisighella, famous for several important prizes for the quality of life, and Forlimpopoli, famous for its traditional local food products such as olive oils and special cheeses aged in gypsum caves. After, we take you to dine in a true Italian restaurant as any true Italian would.

Day 5– Bologna, Dozza

Start with a walking tour through the city center of Bologna, the capitol city of the Emilia Romagna Region, with our Local Guide. After, you are given time for exploring as you wish. In the afternoon, transfer to the small village of Dozza; known for its festival of the painted wall. Here is where we visit a local landmark, the Sforza’s Castle, whose  cellars host Enoteca Regionale Emilia Romagna, the wine shop and wine bar dedicated to oenology products of Emilia Romagna such as Lambrusco, Gutturnio, Albana and Pignoletto. Conclude this amazing day with an equally amazing dinner.

Day 6– Modena, Balsamic Vinegar Cellar, Millan

This morning you’ll take a ride to Modena to visit the city center, its fascinating food market , and to see the beautiful Cathedral (Unesco Heritage). Later, we reach a local Acetaia to visit its cellar where the traditional Aceto Balsamico (Balsamic Vinegar) is made. Lunch will then be served with an Aceto Balsamico menu to celebrate the success of your vacation in this magnificent region of Emilia Romagna. In the late afternoon, enjoy a ride out to your hotel in Milan.

Day 7– Leaving for home

Arrivederci!  Your airport transfer bus arrives to Milano Linate International Airport at 6:00 am, and to the Milano Malpensa International Airport at 7:00 am.
